Ambassador’s Cottage

One of the first CITRA buildings in South Africa was built in the garden of the Swiss Ambassador in Pretoria. This cottage was built showcase in three weeks after only a few weeks of planning.

As the first chapter in the CITRA story, the cottage is a physical demonstration of how our building system can change lives.

The cottage has no steel, concrete or structural timber. Special curved windows were manufactured to fit the shape of the house and to be built in without window frames. This allowed CITRA to use cost-efficient curved windows – a novelty in the building industry.

The cottage can be visited in Pretoria upon arrangement.
